More and more, it’s becoming clear that the wisdom we need can’t be found in human ideas alone.
As we wonder how to care for ourselves and others, pay the bills, do meaningful work and navigate the polycrisis of our times, we can feel overwhelmed or get lost in worn out ideas about what to do and how to be right now.
We need strategies that are bigger, older, and more inclusive. We need to learn from the land directly.
I’m called to gather people together this Autumn to intentionally learn from and communicate with the land.
In my experience, the land is the wisest teacher of all, and the more-than-human beings who inhabit this Earth are eager to show us new perspectives, deeper levels of connection, and alternatives to our current ways of living.
If you’re someone with an ecological heart or an established land-connection practice, I would love to have you.
These gatherings will be simple but powerful and will include:
Time to welcome one another and orient to what we’ll do
Techniques to attune to the land and communicate with the beings there in ways you may not have experienced before (but are natural to you)
Solo time to learn from the land directly
Time to share with one another what we heard and how to incorporate it into our lives going forward
Our theme for November will be Introductions: why it’s important to introduce ourselves to the land and how to do so well.
We’ll be gathering at Oxbow Regional Park, rain or shine, and the cost to join us is $15.
The cost to join us is just there to cover the site reservation fee, supplies, and my childcare. If you’re not able to pay the registration fee but feel called to come, just let me know and we’ll work it out!
Note: this gathering won’t require a lot of walking, but it will require some, mostly on even gravel or grass surfaces. Chairs or picnic table seating can be made available, and I’m happy to try and accommodate any other needs if you have them. Please contact me if you’d like to come but are wondering about accessibility.
